#1 There aren't any real quilt "rules", just suggestions for more efficient and
accurate construction.
#2 Ironing your quilt seams should involve "pressing" the seams to the side, not
dragging the iron to get every minute millimeter of fabric in position. Dragging will
distort your pieces . Just press. You can do this carefully and achieve a nice
"neatness" in appearance and order.
#3 There is a great tutorial here for a nice finishing technique that you can use in
quilting as well as all general sewing. No tails or knots.
#4 I think this is a good explanation of continuous binding.
