Last year I got sucked into an ABC series called Pushing Daisies.  The storyline revolves around a diner, a pie maker/detective, romance, and quirky sets, colors, and plots.  I just am beside myself with excitement over it returning to TV October 1st.  In lieu of this new obsession of mine, I was drawn to a new quilt shop program called Scrapolicious -Stash Pot Pie.  The program revolves around a pie theme, with a new scrap quilt pattern available each month.  I cannot wait for you to see all the patterns this fall.  I love the resourcefulness of using what you have, and I know all of you have beautiful fabric stashes.  The complete details will be in the shop, but in a nutshell, a new pattern will be available each month, there will be a class to pop into if you wish, and you will receive a discount on your border fabrics, backing, and batting when you bring in a completed top from the program.  I want to take a ton of pictures for customers to see, as we will be unveiling a quilt picture wall in the store. (and you ask, “But Heather, where will you find the space?”—don’t worry, I will)   I hope to see you all in the classes this fall.  We have 12 months of patterns, so if you don’t come to one, I am sure I will see you in another.  Oh—the best part???!!!  You get a pie recipe with each pattern, and I will **try ** to make the pie for each class so we can sample it ahead of time.

Smiles,

Heather

CLASSES:

We have so many great classes coming up August-November.  This newsletter features my newest calendar program showcasing pictures of the projects so you can be excited just like me!  We have wonderful Make-and-Take days for small gifts and cute little ideas that we could cluster together.   There will be my unique and original Imprint Dying class, which has traveled around the state with me to many guilds and groups.  You will also see wool felt classes, finishing classes, and of course SCRAPOLICIOUS.

Retreat:

Our annual retreat is coming up as well.  We have that slated for October 24-26th.  In partnership with the Seldon Renaker Inn, we will be hosting a weekend of pampering, quilting, and friendship.  Space is limited to 8, and the fee for each night, (breakfast, snacks, and accommodations at the Inn included) will be $59.99.  There is a special project just for this retreat.  Check back often and look at the website for more information.  We promise that this will be a weekend you remember.

Linen Room:

I cannot leave our Linen Room out of the discussion.  Our linen room grows and grows.  Like a pie, it is a wonderful mixture of things--vintage tablecloths, napkins, aprons, buttons, trim, yo-yos, doll clothes, and lots of little bits and bobs.  There are so many unique gift ideas and inspirations in there.  Just looking at the handwork can send you into a frenzy of excitement about embroidery.

And Speaking of Embroidery:

Can I just leave you with a little tease?  I have already started thinking and planning our block-of-the month programs for the new year. (really, I have to plan already) and we are going to feature TWO different block-of-the months next year.  It won’t be your typical pieced one and appliqué one.  On no, I couldn’t do that to you.  I want you to do something different and special, because all of you are so special to me, so I hunt down the best ideas on the planet.

Discounts:

Don’t forget to use your Frequent Shopper cards everytime you come in.  It is like getting 10% off all the time, which can help any budget!!!!!  If you don’t have one, then ask when you come in.

Calling All Quilters, Sewing Genius’, and Crafters:

I have many requests for odd sewing jobs and projects that come in each week.  I am only one person though, and can’t get to all of them.  IF you would like to earn some extra money, and would like to do some sewing for other’s, then call me at 859-234-1802 and tell me to put your name on the list and I will pass customer’s requests on to you.
